International Food Festival 2013

Sunnybrae Normal enjoyed a spectacular International Food Festival on the evening of Friday March 15th. Many people enjoyed tasting a variety of food from other cultures. Entertainment provided included a Scottish pipe band, cultural performances from children and parents, a very long bouncy castle, police car and constable, and water wheels in the pool. We would like to thank all those involved, whose efforts made for such an enjoyable event. Here are a few photos to view....more will be added after Race Relations Day.....March 21st.....when we will have our Cultural Parade and Games Around The World.

Welcome to 2013

A new year - 2013 - and we have 48 students in our programme. We are looking forward to seeing them all again, and welcoming a few new ones. Groups will be starting Thursday of week 1, and we will be inviting parents to meet the ESOL team in early March. In the meantime, please leave us a comment if you wish. Happy New Year to all our Chinese and Korean families.

Cultural Festival Week

On Friday 19th August, at the end of International Languages Week, we paraded around the senior playground in our national costumes. Everyone had a lot of fun, despite the very cold weather.
As you can see, we are a very multicultural school.

We enjoyed the help of several Chinese parents who showed the students how to use chopsticks, complete a Chinese paper-cut and how to practice Chinese calligraphy.

Cultural Festival Week

In Week 4 of Term 3 we shared our many and varied cultures in a celebration that included cultural activities at lunch time, Games Around The World on Thursday afternoon and a Cultural Parade on Friday. We hope you enjoy looking at us in our beautiful ethnic costumes, and invite you to leave a comment to share.
